After two games on the road, South Williamsport is heading back home. They will take on the Muncy Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. South Williamsport will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 672nd, while the Indians are ranked 291st).
Last Saturday, South Williamsport came up short against the Red Raiders and fell 51-38.
Meanwhile, Muncy waltzed into their match on Saturday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They took down East Juniata 55-38. Muncy pushed the score to 47-23 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers cut but never quite recovered from.
Patrick Zalonis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Rogers, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
South Williamsport's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Muncy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
South Williamsport was dealt a bruising 66-20 defeat at the hands of the Indians when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Muncy's Noah Confer, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds.
