McCool Junction is 8-2 against Dorchester since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The McCool Junction Mustangs' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Dorchester Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. McCool Junction has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 274 points over their last four games.
On Tuesday, McCool Junction didn't have too much trouble with Exeter-Milligan/Friend on the road as they won 63-46. Given McCool Junction's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Exeter-Milligan/Friend is ranked 195th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
McKenna Yates continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points. Briann Stutzman was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, Dorchester came tearing into Tuesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on Hampton with a sharp 65-39 victory. Dorchester has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 22 points or more this season.
McCool Junction is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Dorchester, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home.
McCool Junction took their victory against Dorchester in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 51-31. Does McCool Junction have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dorchester turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
