The Palmetto Christian Academy Lions lost against the Oconee Christian Academy Warriors back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Palmetto Christian Academy fell 52-44 to Oconee Christian Academy. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Palmetto Christian Academy came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Oconee Christian Academy is ranked 236th).
Oconee Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniel Frick, who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Frick has scored at least 25% of Oconee Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rick Soto, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Palmetto Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Oconee Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Palmetto Christian Academy will play host again and welcome Victory Christian, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oconee Christian Academy will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Wardlaw Academy at 6:30 p.m. on December 12th.
