The Bradwell Institute Tigers will head out to face off against the Glynn Academy Terrors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Glynn Academy is hoping to do what Liberty County couldn't on Saturday: put an end to Bradwell Institute's winning streak, which now stands at four games. Bradwell Institute breezed by Liberty County to the tune of 74-27. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 22 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bradwell Institute to victory, but perhaps none more so than Parris Parham, who went 7 for 12 on her way to 20 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Parham continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Destini McLemore, who went 7 of 9 on her way to 16 points along with six boards and six steals.
Bradwell Institute smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 19 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Glynn Academy). They blew past Woodville-Tompkins 65-24 on Saturday. Given the Terrors' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while the Wolverines are ranked 488th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Glynn Academy's win came from a few key players Bradwell Institute will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Janiyah Spaulding, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Deoni Hacker was another key player, going 8 of 15 on her way to 18 points.
Bradwell Institute's victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. As for Glynn Academy, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Bradwell Institute has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 33.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Glynn Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.5 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Bradwell Institute didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Glynn Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 61-55 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bradwell Institute since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
