The biggest upset of the week belonged to Randall, who defeated 100th ranked Amarillo, 42-35.
Fans got a thrill when Kendrick Buckingham and Jimaine Westmoreland connected against Dumas. The connection was good for 70 yards, the longest such play in 4A Region I District 3 this season.
Palo Duro's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Buckingham threw for 131 and 1 touchdown and Westmoreland had 70 yards receiving. On the ground Anthony McClain chipped in 141 yards. Semajre Hill helped Palo Duro's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 35 yards.
The Dons' dynamic duo of Buckingham and Westmoreland proved tough for the Demons to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Hill helped Palo Duro's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 35 yards.
Caprock's Victor Rodriguez and Austin Cruz have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Rodriguez has thrown for 1,630 yards this season, while Cruz has 29 catches for 389 yards. McClain from Palo Duro leads the league in rushing with 830 yards.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when the Longhorns' Cruz goes up against Steve Parr's team's De'John Burns.
Next week's game between Caprock and the Dons will feature an aerial matchup as Rodriguez tests his arm against Burns' defensive ability.
The Sandies are in fifth place, while Canyon is in first place.
The league will see a high scoring game when Palo Duro and the Longhorns face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Dons comes in having scored 129 this season, while Caprock has scored 229. Palo Duro scored 35 points last week as it topped Dumas.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, the Eagles beat the Longhorns 45-0. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
