On Friday, Bishop Manogue was able to grind out a solid victory over Galena, taking the game 61-49. The victory was just what Bishop Manogue needed coming off of a 86-59 loss in their prior matchup.
James Williams and Liam Sorensen were among the main playmakers for Bishop Manogue as the former scored 15 points along with two blocks and the latter scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jamahl Jackson, who scored six points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Damonte Ranch had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.4 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 74-60 victory over Spanish Springs. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Damonte Ranch's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jiro Basabas, who scored 20 points along with six assists and four steals. Jace Anderson was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with nine rebounds.
Bishop Manogue's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12. As for Damonte Ranch, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Bishop Manogue hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 51.6 points per game. It's a different story for Damonte Ranch, though, as they've been averaging only 65.8 points per game. The only thing between Bishop Manogue and another offensive beatdown is Damonte Ranch.
