Having just played yesterday, the Hazelwood West Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Riverview Gardens Rams at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. Hazelwood West has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 18.
On Thursday, Hazelwood West came up short against Parkway South and fell 54-41.
Meanwhile, Riverview Gardens' recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 61-45 fall against McCluer North. While losing is never fun, Riverview Gardens can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 351st, while McCluer North is ranked 147th).
Hazelwood West has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-19 record this season. As for Riverview Gardens, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
Hazelwood West barely slipped by Riverview Gardens in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 62-61. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hazelwood West since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
