Las Plumas is on a 12-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Gridley is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Thunderbirds will host the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Las Plumas' pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Live Oak as they made off with a 12-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Thunderbirds in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won five in a row.

Rylie McInturf was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adriana Heredia, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Las Plumas kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Gridley made easy work of Truckee on Thursday and carried off a 24-5 win.
Reese Stevens made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Avery Mendenhall and Payton Burresch did most of the damage at the plate: Mendenhall went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Burresch got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That triple was Burresch's first of the season. Alexis Alcantar was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.
Las Plumas' victory bumped their record up to 21-3. As for Gridley, their win bumped their record up to 14-4.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Las Plumas has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Gridley struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Las Plumas' way against Gridley in their previous matchup back in April, as Las Plumas made off with a 14-2 victory. Do the Thunderbirds have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
