Sweetwater is 9-1 against San Ysidro since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Red Devils will host the Cougars at 3:30 p.m. Sweetwater will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Sweetwater came out on top against Castle Park on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run first inning. The Red Devils put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 20-6 win. Considering the Red Devils have won 14 contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Gabriella Sena made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Sweetwater got a massive performance out of Tatyana Mosqueda, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Mosqueda has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariana Tovar, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.
Sweetwater always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .683. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, San Ysidro came up short against Montgomery on Tuesday and fell 9-5. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Maya Rodriguez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Sophia Maldonado was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI and one double.
Sweetwater pushed their record up to 18-2-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for San Ysidro, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.
San Ysidro's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Sweetwater has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.6 hits per game. It's a different story for San Ysidro, though, as they've been averaging 8.8 hits. Given Sweetwater's sizable advantage in that area, the Cougars will need to find a way to close that gap.
Sweetwater beat San Ysidro 9-6 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
