The Salmon Savages's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 69-55 to Butte County. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Salmon in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now lost three in a row.
Leading Butte County to victory were Koden Krosch and Brody Westergard. Krosch scored 16 points along with eight rebounds, while Westergard scored 17 points along with four steals. It was the first time this season that Krosch scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Boston Andersen, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Salmon has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Butte County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.
Salmon will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Butte County, they will head out on the road to take on the Mushers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Camas County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully the Pirates like a good challenge.
