The Cheney RVT Beavers entered their tilt with the Avon Falcons with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Cheney RVT claimed a resounding 77-34 victory over Avon at home. Cheney RVT has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Dam'nic Gittens, who scored 24 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Dazhaun Copeland, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Cheney RVT's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. As for Avon, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Cheney RVT the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Goodwin Tech at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Goodwin Tech will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Cheney RVT is ranked 22nd). Avon on the road again on Tuesday and play against Glastonbury at 6:45 p.m. on January 23rd.
