The Corvallis Spartans will venture away from home to face off against the Silverton Foxes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a six-game winning streak alive.
On Wednesday, Corvallis made easy work of Lebanon and carried off a 12-2 victory. Considering the Spartans have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Axel Prechel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ben Weiss, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Logan Lassiter, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Corvallis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lebanon only posted an OBP of .364.
Meanwhile, Silverton got the win against Central on Wednesday by a conclusive 14-4. The Foxes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.
Corvallis pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Silverton, their record now sits at 13-1.
Corvallis suffered a grim 14-4 defeat to Silverton in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
