Daviess County has gone a perfect 10-0 against Owensboro recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Red Devils at 5:30 p.m. One thing working in Daviess County's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four matches.
If Daviess County beats Owensboro with ten runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Panthers blew past Owensboro Catholic 10-0 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won ten games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Sophia Cain made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3.
In other pitching news, Kamryn Timmons looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Annie Newman, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Morris, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Daviess County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Owensboro was not the first on the board on Wednesday, but they got there more often. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Owensboro Catholic 7-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Devils.
Daviess County is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Owensboro, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Daviess County took their victory against Owensboro in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 7-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
