The Carlson Marauders will be playing at home against the Churchill Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carlson will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Carlson stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Lincoln Park at home to the tune of 45-13. Given Carlson's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Lincoln Park is ranked 356th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carlson found their leader in underclassman Izaiah Wright, who rushed for 209 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Wright is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played.
Meanwhile, Churchill suffered a tough 42-21 defeat at the hands of Plymouth on Friday. Churchill was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.
Carlson's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.8 points per game. As for Churchill, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
