Baseball Game Preview: Discovery Canyon Thunder vs. Palmer Ridge Bears

For the second straight game, Discovery Canyon will face off against Palmer Ridge. The Thunder will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Discovery Canyon has three straight wins, Palmer Ridge has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Discovery Canyon hadn't beaten Palmer Ridge on the road since April 12, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Thunder put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 16-4 victory. The Thunder might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Eoin Adams looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cole Teltschik, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and one double while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. That's the most home runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Jaxon Ross was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Discovery Canyon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.

Discovery Canyon's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Palmer Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.

Palmer Ridge's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Discovery Canyon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .378.
