The Delaware Christian Eagles will face off against the Mt. Gilead Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Delaware Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Thursday. Delaware Christian put the hurt on Liberty Christian Academy with a sharp 12-1 win. Delaware Christian hasn't had any issues with Liberty Christian Academy recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Ava Hovda made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cosette Stump, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI. Ashlyn McCoy was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Delaware Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Mt. Gilead fell victim to Cardington-Lincoln and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Pirates, falling 20-0. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Mt. Gilead's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13-1. As for Delaware Christian, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Mt. Gilead's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Delaware Christian has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Mt. Gilead, though, as they've been averaging 10.3 hits. Given Delaware Christian's sizable advantage in that area, the Indians will need to find a way to close that gap.
