David Anderson has gone 8-2 against Southern recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Blue Devils will be playing at home against the Indians at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (David Anderson has four straight wins, Southern has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
David Anderson's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over Chaney. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won seven games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Mason Jones was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. David Anderson is undefeated when Jones posts two or more runs, but 3-7 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bryce Esarey, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025. Ashton Hinchliffe was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Southern lost 17-2 to David Anderson on Monday.
Landen Heffner was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.
David Anderson's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Southern, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. David Anderson has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Southern struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went David Anderson's way against Southern in their previous meeting on Monday, as David Anderson made off with a 17-2 win. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
