The St. Ursula Academy Arrows will challenge the Swanton Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Ursula Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.2 runs per game this season.
St. Ursula Academy proved they can win big on Friday (they won by nine) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over Central Catholic. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Arrows have posted since April 18, 2024.

Brooke Bowers was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI.
Bowers wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Schlachter, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Sydney Hoffman also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Swanton gave up the first runs last Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Northwood as they made off with a 15-5 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won three games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Like St. Ursula Academy, Swanton also got a great game from a two-way player: Beyla Remer. On the mound, she tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Remer was even better at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-5.
In other batting news, Carli LaGrange was incredible, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 4-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Adriana Elliott, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
Swanton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Swanton's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for St. Ursula Academy, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Swanton's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. St. Ursula Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game.
