Softball Recap: Tokay Wins Going Away Against Chavez

After only one run in their last contest, Tokay made sure to put some runs up on the board against Chavez on Wednesday. The Tigers blew past the Titans 18-4. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by eight runs or more this season.

Brooklyn Jeremic-Schaede 2027 made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. Jeremic-Schaede 2027 was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Pasqualicchio 2028, who went 4-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Misasi 2025, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Tokay kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 11.

The victory got Tokay back to even at 5-5. As for Chavez, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-7.

Tokay wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-0 defeat against Manteca on the 3rd. Chavez has also already played their next matchup (against East Union), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
