Softball Recap: Tucson High Magnet School Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

Tucson High Magnet School won the last time they faced Rincon/University and things went their way on Monday too. The Badgers put the hurt on the Rangers with a sharp 17-1 win. The Badgers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by seven runs or more this season.

Tucson High Magnet School got a great performance from Evannie Flores as she struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave Flores a new career-high.

At the plate, Alyssa Torres was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Claudeona Lesley was another key player, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4.

Tucson High Magnet School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive games.

Tucson High Magnet School is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Rincon/University, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tucson High Magnet School will welcome Cienega at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Rincon/University, they will be playing at home against Sunnyside at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Rangers surely won't give up without a fight.
