After three games on the road, Hampton is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Fox Chapel Foxes at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Hampton faced Shaler Area in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Hampton took a hard 53-34 fall against Shaler Area. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hampton has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Fox Chapel ended up a good deal behind Moon Area on Tuesday and lost 45-29. While losing is never fun, Fox Chapel can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while Moon Area is ranked 102nd).
Fox Chapel's defeat came about despite a quality game from Jefferson Moorefield-Brown, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The contest was Moorefield-Brown's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ike Moser, who scored four points.
Hampton's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-1. As for Fox Chapel, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Hampton skirted past Fox Chapel 58-55 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Does Hampton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fox Chapel turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
