Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Deshyria Brown, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Delapena, who scored five points.
Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season. As for Flour Bluff, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial will face off against Corpus Christi Moody at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Corpus Christi Moody focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Tuesday. As for Flour Bluff, they will head out on the road to challenge Carroll at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
