Quitman hasn't had much luck against Mendenhall recently, but that could start to change  on Tuesday. The Panthers will venture away from home to  face off against the Tigers  at 7:00  p.m. Quitman is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4  runs per game  this season.
Having struggled with three  losses in a row, Quitman  turned things around against Raymond  on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Rangers with a sharp  20-3 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six  runs or more this season.
 James Files looked comfortable as he  struck out eight batters over  three innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   three  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  he has posted since back in February.

 On the hitting side,  Connor King was  incredible,  firing off two  home runs, five  RBI,  and three  runs while going 4-for-4. Those  five  RBI gave  him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Daniel Peters, who  scored three  runs and  stole five bases while going 2-for-3.
 Quitman  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .735. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
 Meanwhile, Mendenhall had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They walked away with  a   9-4  victory over the Bearcats.
 The  win  got Quitman back to even at 11-11. As for Mendenhall, they now  have a winning record of 8-7.
 Quitman suffered a grim  10-0 defeat to Mendenhall  when the teams last played  back in April of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
