Softball Recap: Climax-Scotts Wins Going Away Against Athens

Climax-Scotts hadn't done well against Athens recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 27-7 margin over the Indians. Considering the Panthers have won five matchups by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Holly Talbert, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with five runs, seven RBI, and two triples. She is on a roll when it comes to triples, as she's now hit at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Reeves, who went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Climax-Scotts now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Athens, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Climax-Scotts will challenge Colon at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Athens, they will welcome Rochester at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
