The Washington Union Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Atascadero Greyhounds at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Washington Union had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took down Templeton 25-7. The victory was just what Washington Union needed coming off of a 28-6 loss in their prior contest.
Washington Union's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jason Torres led the charge by throwing for 237 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes. Ryan Brown also helped out with an impressive 129 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Atascadero put another one in the bag two weeks ago to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 42-24 win over Pioneer Valley.
Mateo Cano had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 179 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Joseph Hyde also helped out as he racked up 109 rushing yards.
Washington Union's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Atascadero, they pushed their record up to 10-0 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
