Basketball Recap: Make It 12 in a Row for Creekside Christian Academy

Creekside Christian Academy waltzed into their match on Thursday with 11 straight wins... but they left with 12. They breezed by the Paideia Pythons to the tune of 64-34. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Pythons are ranked 355th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Creekside Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyra Ware, who went 7 of 8 on her way to 14 points in addition to six assists and four steals. Ware is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 25 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jai Holt, who went 6 for 13 en route to 16 points.

Ware wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Creekside Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Creekside Christian Academy's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. As for Paideia, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

When Creekside Christian Academy and Paideia next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Creekside Christian Academy will take on Harvester Christian Academy and their four-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Creekside Christian Academy's defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so Paideia's offense will have their work cut out for them. Similarly, Paideia will try to stop Midtown's four-game winning streak when the meet at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Creekside Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.3 points per game this season.
