Softball Recap: Lake Wales Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Lake Wales waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Auburndale Bloodhounds by a score of 9-4. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 13-12 win last Friday.

Keira Davis was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mattie Cockrell, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Davis wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Lake Wales kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The Highlanders are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Lake Wales' win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Auburndale, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-14.

Looking ahead, Lake Wales will venture away from home to take on Sebring at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Highlanders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Streaks have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Auburndale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Winter Haven at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
