On Saturday, Mineral Wells was the victim of a tough 41-19 loss at the hands of Cypress Ranch. While losing is never fun, Mineral Wells can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 567th, while Cypress Ranch is ranked 227th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cypress Ranch to victory, but perhaps none more so than Demi Lewis, who scored 7 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Averie Steele, who scored 14 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Mineral Wells and nudges their season record down to 6-5. As for Cypress Ranch, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mineral Wells will play host again and welcome Bowie, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bowie is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Cypress Ranch, they will be playing at home against Cypress Woods at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
