Softball Recap: Farragut Snags 13th Victory in Last 15 Games

Farragut won the last time they faced Knoxville Central and things went their way on Friday too. The Admirals put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 11-2 win. Considering the Admirals have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Logan Jameson and Elsa Morrison did most of the damage at the plate: Jameson went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Morrison scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Jameson also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Taylor Albright, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Farragut always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Farragut is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Knoxville Central, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-3 record.

Farragut and Knoxville Central should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. The Admirals will challenge Maryville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (10 vs. 71). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Farragut 2.8, the Red Rebels 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Knoxville Central (ranked 37th) will meet Campbell County (ranked 217th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
