Darien pushed their score all the way to 59 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Stamford 63-59. St. Joseph won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were dealt a 71-43 defeat at the hands of Ridgefield. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points St. Joseph has scored all season.
St. Joseph's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sean Christy, who scored 16 points along with three blocks, and Tj Wright who scored 16 points along with three steals. That was a full 37.2% of St. Joseph's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Chase Bryant was another key contributor, scoring a point along with six rebounds and three steals.
Darien's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-6. As for St. Joseph, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Darien came up short against St. Joseph in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 56-52. Can Darien avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
