Minersville has gone 8-2 against Marian Catholic recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. Despite the loss, Minersville got top-tier performance from Dante Carr, who rushed for 143 yards and two TDs while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and also threw for 215 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Carr's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 143 rushing yards. 89 of Carr's passing yards were hauled in by Ty Atkinson, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Minersville, adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Paiten Lapoint, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Marian Catholic strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on Mahanoy Area with a sharp 35-13 victory. With Marian Catholic ahead 28-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Marian Catholic's win came from a few key players Minersville will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jake Tom, who picked up 104 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 61 yards and one TD. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 53 yards. Rory Dixon was another key player, gaining 98 total yards and two touchdowns.
Marian Catholic didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Dante Tate picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Marian Catholic's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Minersville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

It's a different story for Marian Catholic, though, as they've been averaging only 230.4 total yards.
