Spring is 8-1-1 against Nimitz since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Spring Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Nimitz Cougars at 5:45 p.m. Nimitz took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Spring, who comes in off a win.
After failing to score in their last match, Spring made sure to put some goals up on the board against Dekaney on Tuesday. They never let the Wildcats onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory. Emily Mendez was a massive factor in the win, as she booted in three goals all by herself.
Meanwhile, Nimitz's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. Their rough 4-0 defeat to Aldine might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Nimitz in their matchups with Aldine: they've now lost four in a row.
Spring's win bumped their record up to 4-6-2. As for Nimitz, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6-2 record this season.
Everything went Spring's way against Nimitz in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 as Spring made off with a 4-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Spring since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
