Rockwood is a perfect 10-0 against Turkeyfoot Valley Area since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Rockets will host the Rams at 4:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Rockwood's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Turkeyfoot Valley Area has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Rockwood fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Everett on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-2.
Nathan Show put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Show was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Show wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Max Trimpey, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Turkeyfoot Valley Area lost 9-3 to Berlin Brothersvalley on Thursday.
Heath Nicholson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those triples marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Zack Ryan, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Turkeyfoot Valley Area's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Rockwood, their loss dropped their record down to 15-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rockwood has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Turkeyfoot Valley Area struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Rockwood's way against Turkeyfoot Valley Area in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, as Rockwood made off with a 29-1 victory. Will the Rockets repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
