It was fun while it lasted, but Magdalena's undefeated season came to an end after eight games on Friday. They took a hard 45-27 fall against the Texico Wolverines. The contest marked the Steers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Magdalena lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brooke Anderson, who posted six points. Another player making a difference was Nikole Torres, who put up three points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Magdalena smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Having lost for the first time this season, Magdalena fell to 8-1. As for Texico, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Magdalena didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-54 victory against Tucumcari on the 21st. As for Texico, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 32-25 defeat against Tohatchi on the 21st.
