Kennedy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against The Cleveland Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kennedy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 183 points over their last four matches.
Kennedy put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Van Nuys 42-15 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-9.
Kennedy can attribute much of their success to Diego Montes, who rushed for 57 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and Alonzo Fuentes-gutierrez, who rushed for 163 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. Kennedy also got help from Giovanni Nelson who showed off his sure hands for 81 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, after only six points in their last contest, Cleveland made sure to put some points up on the board against El Camino Real on Thursday. Cleveland enjoyed a cozy 34-20 victory over El Camino Real.
Cleveland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kory Hall led the charge by picking up 91 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Hall was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 60 yards. Another player making a difference was Domenik Fuentes, who threw for 208 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes.
Kennedy's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37.33 points. As for Cleveland, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Kennedy has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 223.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Cleveland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 161 per game. It's looking like Friday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Kennedy suffered a grim 49-27 defeat to Cleveland in their previous meeting back in August. Can Kennedy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
