Westfield and Hamilton Southeastern are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. The Westfield Shamrocks are taking a road trip to challenge the Hamilton Southeastern Royals at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Westfield is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
Westfield is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Indiana's top teams: Carmel, who was ranked 24th at the time (Westfield was ranked 14th). Westfield came out on top against Carmel by a score of 52-43 on Saturday. The 52-point effort marked the Shamrocks' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Durante Morton, who posted eight points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Morton a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Harvey, who earned 13 points and five assists.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Hamilton Southeastern sidestepped Lawrence Central for a 58-56 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Royals.
Hamilton Southeastern's win came from a few key players Westfield will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Braeden Totton, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Maverick Young, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 16 points.
Hamilton Southeastern has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Westfield, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Westfield and Hamilton Southeastern are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Westfield hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 63.7 points per game. However, it's not like Hamilton Southeastern struggles in that department as they've been averaging 60.4 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Westfield strolled past Hamilton Southeastern in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a score of 42-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westfield since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
