Saint Mary's Hall has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. The Saint Mary's Hall Barons and the Ozona Lions will round out the year against one another at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Thursday, Saint Mary's Hall got the win against Mesa by a conclusive 41-21. The win was all the more spectacular given Saint Mary's Hall's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 257th in Texas, while Mesa is ranked 66th in Arizona).
Saint Mary's Hall's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isabella (Beya) Chase, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. The game was Chase's 14th in a row with at least ten points. Sedelia Wilson-larkin was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds and four blocks.
Meanwhile, Ozona scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They really took it to Water Valley for the full four quarters, racking up a 76-24 victory on the road. The win was familiar territory for Ozona who now have eight in a row.
Saint Mary's Hall pushed their record up to 15-2 with that win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.67 points. As for Ozona, their victory bumped their record up to 18-1.
