The Wallace Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 60-43 fall against Paxton. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wallace in their matchups with Paxton: they've now lost three in a row.
Wallace's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kendyl Flaming, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Flaming pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dajana Garrison, who scored six points.
Even though they lost, Wallace smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paxton only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Jacelyn Jorgensen continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Paxton, scoring 15 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Clouse, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Wallace has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Paxton, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.
Wallace will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Brady at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Paxton, they will take on Hitchcock County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
