Baseball Game Preview: Logan Grizzlies vs. Summit Academy Bears

For the second straight game, Logan will face off against Summit Academy. The Grizzlies will host the Bears at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Logan was handed a 15-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Summit Academy, sneaking past 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Grizzlies have posted since March 27, 2024.

Rylee Hoth was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Hoth was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kyler Briel, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

Summit Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Logan, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.
