7A District 6 recap September 24, 2013
Harmony scaled the state rankings by moving to 290 from 330 this week, the biggest jump in 7A District 6. The Longhorns were able to move up by defeating Gateway 6-0.
St. Cloud took down Celebration 52-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Osceola's dynamic duo of DAEQUAN HARRISON and SANTIAGO HOFFMAN proved tough for Liberty to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. HARRISON threw for 56 yards and HOFFMAN had 34 yards receiving.
The Kowboys' dynamic duo of HARRISON and HOFFMAN proved to be unstoppable against the Chargers, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
HOFFMAN was the best wideout in the league this week as Osceola defeated Liberty.
Stefano Saragusa provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Storm lost to the Bulldogs. He completed 2 passes for 34 yards and also ran for 119 yards.
Saragusa was the most successful running back in the league this week. Teammate Willie Jones added to the ground attack by rushing for 14 yards.
HARRISON put up the best numbers through the air as Doug Nichols' team bested David Benson's team.
Leading 7A District 6 in both passing and receiving yards, Lake Nona's TUCKER ISRAEL and RYAN SOUSA have proven to be a lethal combination. ISRAEL has thrown for 1,066 yards this season, while SOUSA, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 33 catches for 633 yards. DWIGHT FAGAN from the Kowboys leads the league in rushing with 361 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when St. Cloud takes on Harmony. At the moment, Bryan Smart's team is in second, while Jerrad Butler's team is in fourth.
The Longhorns made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,440 from 6,540. The improvement was the result of 6-0 victory over the Panthers last week.
