Last Friday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Central Crossing had to settle for a 51-48 defeat against the Wildcats. Central Crossing has not had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Central Crossing might have lost, but man, Cheyenne Taylor was a machine: she went 8 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 1 assist. Taylor continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Savannah Hamilton, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Reynoldsburg beat the Golden Gales 61-54 on Friday. Given Reynoldsburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while the Golden Gales are ranked 222nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Central Crossing has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Reynoldsburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
Central Crossing was taken down by the Raiders 65-20 in their previous matchup back in January. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Central Crossing was down 47-13.
