Baseball Game Preview: Glencoe Panthers vs. Copan Hornets

Glencoe is a perfect 3-0 against Copan since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Panthers will welcome the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. Glencoe has given up an average of 8.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Glencoe is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Frontier just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 17-7 to the Mustangs. Panthers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Mustangs since on Monday.

Meanwhile, Copan came tearing into Monday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They had just enough and edged out the Eagles 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hornets have posted since March 5, 2024.

Copan pushed their record up to 12-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Glencoe, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Everything went Glencoe's way against Copan in their previous matchup back in April of 2022, as Glencoe made off with an 18-0 victory. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
