After two games on the road, Eagle Valley is heading back home. They will take on the Grand Junction Central Warriors at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Eagle Valley posted their biggest victory since November 30, 2023 on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Battle Mountain as Eagle Valley made off with a 46-22 victory. The win was just what Eagle Valley needed coming off of a 54-16 defeat in their prior match.
Among those leading the charge was Abby Talbot, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Addison Mandeville, who scored five points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Grand Junction Central came tearing into Thursday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 68-54 win over Palisade.
Eagle Valley's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8. As for Grand Junction Central, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-8.
Eagle Valley was dealt a bruising 61-32 loss at the hands of Grand Junction Central when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Eagle Valley, Alex Wagner (who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and two steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
