The Southwood Knights waltzed into their game Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 51-36 victory over Lakeland Christian Academy. That's two games straight that Southwood has won by exactly 15 points.
Southwood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emmerson Chellis led the charge by scoring ten points. Isabelle Ashba was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists and three steals.
Southwood's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Lakeland Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.
Southwood will head out on the road to face off against Peru at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Peru is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Lakeland Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northfield at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Northfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Friday.
