Carlisle had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Oak Ridge Military Academy Eagles a 10-0 shutout. The Chiefs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Casey Thomas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game.

In other pitching news, Cole Scarce and Luke Carter dominated on the mound. Scarce went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Carter went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple. Scarce has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Mason Wood, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Ben Wood, who earned one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Carlisle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Carlisle's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Oak Ridge Military Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Looking ahead, Carlisle will challenge Caldwell Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Ridge Military Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
