This season hasn't been kind to the Salmon River Shamrocks, who are still winless after their ninth contest. They were outmatched by Potsdam at home and fell 112-31. Salmon River has not had much luck with Potsdam recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Potsdam found their leader in underclassman Ian VanWagner, who dropped a double-double on 36 points and 12 steals. VanWagner is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Nick Roda, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Salmon River dropped their record down to 0-9 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Potsdam, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.
Salmon River will head out on the road to challenge Gouverneur at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Potsdam, they will be playing at home against Canton at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Canton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Potsdam in New York (Canton is ranked 77th, while Potsdam is ranked 253rd).
