The Valley Vikings's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Wellington Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on December 8th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around on Friday.
Valley struggled with assists on Tuesday (Liberty Common had 1200% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Valley was the victim of a tough 65-44 loss at the hands of Liberty Common. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Valley in their matchups with Liberty Common: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Valley saw an underclassman step up: Caleb Dudley scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Brownell , who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Wellington, who are still winless after their fourth contest. They were outmatched by Fort Lupton on the road and fell 90-12. Wellington was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-6.
The losses dropped both teams to an identical 1-2.
Everything came up roses for Valley against Wellington when the teams last played back in February as the squad secured a 70-21 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
