Wisner-Pilger has struggled against North Bend Central recently, as their match on Thursday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Wisner-Pilger lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nevaeh Brown, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Brown also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Haley Kneifl, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Wisner-Pilger dropped their record down to 6-11 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for North Bend Central, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-7.
Wisner-Pilger won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Stanton at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Stanton is ranked 135th, while Wisner-Pilger is ranked 151st). North Bend Central will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Tekamah-Herman on February 6th.
