Jaquan Griffin Delivers Best Effort of Season
Jaquan Griffin produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Middlesex to the win on Friday. Griffin rushed for 358 yards and seven touchdowns while picking up 18.8 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 59 yards.
Unfortunately for Charles City, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Griffin. Griffin picked up 37 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 30 yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Panthers duked it out back in October of 2023.

Shane Jones Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Sadly, Shane Jones posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Charles City over Middlesex on Friday. Jones rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 100 yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 67 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Charles City is on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7. Jones will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant effort when he faces off against King & Queen Central on Friday.
