Softball Recap: Horn Has No Trouble Against Cedar Hill

Horn's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Cedar Hill Longhorns 20-4. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Hailey Martinez was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in February. She was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Horn got a massive performance out of Zoie Armstrong, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those five runs gave Armstrong a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Uribe, who went 2-for-5 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and three runs.

Horn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Horn's record now sits at 13-9-1. As for Cedar Hill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.

Horn didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-0 win against Skyline on the 26th. As for Cedar Hill, they have also already played their next matchup, a 16-1 defeat against Duncanville on the 26th.
